The Critical Lens: Synthesising Theory for Responsible AI
By Alkab
Categories: Critical Theory and AI
About Course
Each of the four critical traditions explored in this series, Critical Race Theory, Feminist Theory, Marxist Theory, and Postmodern Theory, illuminates dimensions of AI that the others miss. No single framework is complete. Read together, they form a powerful, multidimensional analytical lens for understanding AI systems in their full social, political, economic, and epistemological complexity. This capstone course brings the four traditions into conversation, examines where they complement and where they tension with each other, and asks: what does Responsible AI look like when viewed through all four lenses simultaneously?
What Will You Learn?
- How to synthesise CRT, Feminist, Marxist, and Postmodern theory into a unified critical framework. Where the four frameworks complement and where they tension with each other. How to apply the integrated critical lens to a real AI governance challenge. How to translate critical theoretical insights into practical AI governance recommendations.
